Speaking at Silicon Valley PMA

On Wednesday I’ll be speaking at the Silicon Valley Product Management Association in Santa Clara. Sounds like it will be a good crowd, I’m looking forward to meeting everyone. I’ll be talking about “The System is the Product”, and related issues of designing complex ecosystems of products and services. (Related blog post on the topic.)

Adam,

Really enjoyed your presentation at the SVPMA meeting. Reminded me of Geoffrey Moore's whole product concept. Striking how difficult it is to get a company to think about the system rather than the shiny product (let alone act!), which is no doubt why it is such a source of competitive advantage for those that pull it off.

Was reading about Norway's Think electric cars this morning and noticed they were deliberately taking a systems approach - it'll be interesting to see how that affects their success.
